The Summer Stitchbook, an online workshop

  • north bennington, VT (map)

Come along for a slow-stitching adventure and virtual self-paced workshop that you can enjoy from your own home.

Inviting you to join this new workshop for a virtual stitch getaway that evokes the happy days of an old-fashioned summer. Making blueberry muffins in gramma’s kitchen, tending flower and vegetable gardens, playing at the seashore, discovering a rabbit in his secret den, arranging flowers for a summer day. We will be making this sweet book about summer with fabric and thread. It is the third book/workshop in a popular seasonal series.

Open to all skill levels, the workshop is a perfect way to grow your stitch love with fabric, thread and the joy of handmade!

Kit includes:

Linen and muslin foundation fabrics

Printed fabric panel of my images and icons

Embroidery design panel with coordinating threads

Vintage fabrics and trims

Vintage quilt pieces

New and handfelted wool felts

New cotton fabrics

Patterns, photos and instructions

Videos teach:

Building the two covers and four double page spreads inside

Using and altering the kit materials

Transferring photos and imagery to fabric

Assembling the book

Stitching and finishing

(Videos can be watched whenever it suits you, as often as you wish without expiration.)

The Facebook Group

Optional- You’ll be invited to join a private Facebook Group where you can post your work, see what others are doing and generally be inspired by the supportive comments from other makers. It’s a lovely way to share and feel connected to the group. I will be there too. We’ve built a welcoming community of stitching friends there!

Zoom Meet-ups

Optional- We'll get together in small groups on Zoom to talk about your creation  and to share it with other members. I'll show you how to modify the design for extra bonus projects to make the best use of your materials and creativity.
