The Stitch and Patch Weekend in Southern Vermont

  • House Wren Studio North Bennington, VT (map)

Inviting you to join Karen Stevens  of kzstevens.com and me in Southern Vermont for a long weekend slow-stitching retreat just as Spring is in full swing in the Green Mountains.

Open to all skill levels, the workshop is a perfect way to grow your stitch love with fabric, thread and the joy of handmade!

Join us in beautiful Southern Vermont for a long weekend retreat just as Spring is in full swing in the Green Mountains. The lilacs and daffodils will be popping, baby lambs being born, tender willows blooming.

This will be a small group event  with two full days of stitching instruction to create the North Shire Carry-all bag. Day One will be spent  piecing and patching together the exterior ‘canvas’. On Day Two we will turn our creation into a one-of-a-kind drawstring bag, perfect to fill  with all of your sewing supplies. All meals are included with the exception of one dinner for those who want to explore town. There will be light fare available if you’d rather stay in and stitch. The cozy common room has a fireplace and will be open in the evenings if you want to continue to stitch and share together. Sunday morning will be a farewell breakfast with a show and tell.

You will have a choice of a single or shared room (single rooms are limited, shared rooms have two queen beds). All rooms are very spacious with a private bathroom, small walk-out deck and full view of the Green Mountains. A kit will be provided and includes everything you need to complete the finished bag. Other freely available materials will also be available if you wish to do more stitching ‘outside the box’.
