Thank you all for the sweet emails and cards about my mom. Life catches you up and moves you along. It was a welcome delight to head back to Vermont for another retreat with friends and artists.
Welcome to the creative home of artist and maker Charlotte Lyons.

My gorgeous, glamorous, sassy, smart, funny and fun mom, Charlotte O'Keefe Matthews Manassa passed away May 4.
For quite awhile it seems like everything here is blue now. But it's such a good time to be in love with that color.
That sweet lil guy had his first birthday! We all had fun getting together on a very cold February day to celebrate Mr. Vince.
Announcing our 11th getaway retreat in Vermont! In September we will gather for three days and nights of delightful art-making, friendship and adventure in southern Vermont. Our guest artist this session is Rebecca Sower,
Two new classes for a "girlfriends getaway" weekend February 27-28 at Mohonk Mountain House. We will be making the scrap journal on Saturday morning and the charm necklaces on Sunday morning.
Really want to share Vince's first snowfall with you. Click and watch this - so so cute! Listen to him laughing as his dad pulls him along in the .... laundry basket!
Watching this little guy grow up so fast is an inspiration to make more of the time I have for making. So far this year, I have finished stitching the West End sampler I designed awhile ago.
December days rush past quicker than we can keep up. I've lost all track of a timeline to share with you here, but little Vince keeps it real for us. All the changes in his first year!
In September, Meleen and I hosted another pair of super-fun crafty getaways in Vermont. Both weekends were spectacular!
I'm still getting the hang of this new place. Every once in awhile I uncover the top layer of a basket full of things I squirreled away in here and find that there is actually something wonderful inside.
One of my favorite artists is Jenn McGlon of Noodle and Lou. Her work with paint and wood and polymer clay is so darn cute!
Maggie and I have been taking little Vince to the town pool now and then. It reminds me so much of the days when I did that with the girls in Chicago.
Our spring events in Vermont were sponsored by several friends and featured artists. Each gift was a lovely gesture of support and generosity!
This has been a busy spring and summer for me. Our house sold, I downsized and moved after an enormous tag sale a few weeks ago. (!!!)
I'm moved in. I can't really believe it's been a week. Tonight was the first night I cooked here.
Taking apart the house room by room and preparing to move tomorrow. Seriously.
Spring isn't exactly rushing in here. Like everyone else, we've had a lot of snow. Something like 52 inches total this year.
On February 10, Maggie and James had a little boy. His name is Vincent Andrew and he is supremely and completely adorable! Safe to say, we are all in awe.
Happy new year! (um, I can't believe it's almost the end of January.)
