Claudine Hellmuth was one of my first art friends in the industry. Such a kind, generous and incredibly talented person, she is always up to something revolutionary. Last year we had lunch at CHA where I got a chance to see her new collection of paints, brushes, and sticky canvas for Ranger. So excited to see her launch this wonderful line!
Tim Holtz asked some of us to create house-shaped samples using the materials for her upcoming product display at CHA 09. Honored to be asked and honestly, I really loved using the products- all of them! The canvas is such a smart concept, so much fun to paint, peel and stick. Even the dimensional flower was made using that. I stamped it from a hand-carved stamp and cut it out, then stuck the cut-out onto paper. The paints are rich, dense colors in yummy little jars. I could have tinkered with the whole thing for days, but I had to get it off for their deadline. I'll play with the paints and canvas another day. It made me nostalgic for the fun I had creating my house series for Oopsy Daisy.
Just back from the post office to send it off to Ranger and thought I'd see what's up on the blogs. O, look, there is Amy's house - and it's pink too! You know me- there can never be too many pink houses in any neighborhood. That is going to be one colorful wall display.
Thanks, Claudine and Tim! Wishing you all the best ever success at CHA this year. xoC
