Welcome to the creative home of artist and maker Charlotte Lyons.

from the garden

My neighborhood friend, Jo brought me a beautiful page of calling cards from a Victorian scrapbook she ran across somewhere. Such an unexpected kindness, though when I think about it, Jo is that kind of person, always thoughtful and generous. A gifted plants-woman, her garden is the centerpiece of the neighborhood in any season.

From the brittle, yellowing page, I chose an image and tinkered with it to make a thank you card for her. And then I made this one for you. Click on the image for the full size, save and print it out to make labels for your canning jars or seed collections. Or you could also use it as a gift tag for homemade zucchini breads. (Personal use only, please.)

Mo and I head off tomorrow to take her back to school in Indiana. I'm so sorry to have the summer suddenly be over, but she's excited to get back on campus and see her friends there. Knowing that, I'm trying to stay in that happy little bubble for now. Gratefully, even though I don't have a garden full of tomatoes or zucchini, there is plenty to be busy with when I get home. See you then. xoC
