This is the very best time of year for inspiration. Perched on my shoulder like an adorable little bird (or mouse or bunny or bear) is the idea that Christmas is coming. Everything in my path suddenly looks different to me...what can I make this year to celebrate the holidays? 
My stash of recycled materials is the first place I look. Sweater felt, costume jewelry, church sale trims, old snapshots, buttons and sparkle- lots of sparkle! Jumbled together with needle and thread, they do make the cutest decorations- stitch, glue, trim, tuck, stitch, decorate, adore.
That's what I did when I imagined and created my holiday collection for Midwest. What a nice surprise today to see my Sweet Mountain Holiday friends turn up on the Home Companion website and in the magazine too! O, they are so darling- everything I love all sweetened up and beautifully featured in Margo's Midwest farmhouse. I am so happy to see that they are favorites there!
