To offer a child the materials for creative experiment and to see the happy magic that comes to life from his effort is pretty exciting. These 12 children today quietly listened to a story about a Victorian child's discovery of gardening and then they built their arrangements - with thoughtful choices and great care. No one rushed for the cookies and cider-- they were too busy choosing berry sprigs and boxwood. Their extraordinary compositions were just stunning to behold--made me think of floats in a parade, wherever there could be decoration it was added....and then a little more. The sparkling stems and glittered reindeer were very popular. I should have been an art teacher....really so much fun!
Dates already on the calendar to do this again at Valentine's and then once more for Mother's Day.
